AIWO-CAN (African Indigenous Women Organization – Central Africa Network) is an organization committed to transforming mindsets and realities surrounding the living conditions of indigenous women in Central Africa. In a context where a large portion of the population lives below the poverty line, the rights, voices, and basic needs of indigenous women are often overlooked or marginalized. This neglect places a heavy burden on both individuals and communities.
We work to restore collective awareness around the importance of empowering indigenous women, not through superficial or symbolic actions, but through concrete initiatives that address structural inequalities, strengthen autonomy, and foster sustainable social inclusion within their communities.
